The MAFP was awarded an exciting programming grant in September 2016: a $2,000 Chapter Lecture Series grant from the AAFP to bring a CME diabetes speaker to the Annual Meeting (aka Spring Refresher) on April 20 and 21, 2017, at The Depot Minneapolis. This AAFP grant is made possible from GlaxoSmithKline.

Why it matters to members: Through a NIH grant, the University of Minnesota and our Research Network, Medica Research Institute and HealthPartners Institute will be studying how Minnesota primary care providers can improve the delivery of diabetes care. Additionally, the Minnesota Community Measurement recently announced that two new diabetes measures will be released next year.

For more information about this grant, contact Lynn Balfour, Deputy Executive Vice President of the MAFP. Lynn works to secure meaningful grants for MAFP programming.
